Employee Engagement 2013

New 2013 Programme for LONG

This series of workshops builds on the theme of raising performance in organisations through releasing the potential of employees. Each workshop concentrates on the role of leaders and managers as a key influencer in the process of engaging their teams. We take a practical look at how theories are applied in practice to build effective team-working that raises performance, increases involvement in change and produces more satisfying ways of working.

Several of the most recognisable UK organisations, including Marks & Spencer, Sainsbury’s, O2, Lloyds Banking Group and Virgin Active recognise that there is still a great deal of untapped potential within the workforce. In an open letter to The Times in November 2012, £26 billion GDP growth was identified through better engagement. Organisations with high engagement levels outperform their low engagement counterparts, report lower staff absence and staff turnover, and fewer accidents. They cite that two-thirds of UK workers surveyed feel they have “more to offer” at work, meaning the nation is missing out on the full capability of 20 million workers, who are not actively engaged.

Following on the employee engagement theme from 2012, we have designed four new events focusing on this very key area. Theme topics we will be covering are:

  • Leadership That Develops Followership - 20 June 2013
  • Engaging Meetings - 12 September 2013
  • Releasing Innovation Through Engagement - 14 November 2013
  • Engaging with the Brand - 6 March 2014
